Unrecognized Organizations

Unrecognized organizations are groups that were once recognized by Wake Forest University but lost that recognition due to conduct issues at either the University or national level. Wake Forest does not support, supervise, or encourage student involvement in these groups.

Because they are unrecognized:

• They do not receive University training or education on running an organization or harm prevention (such as Social Host Training, Alcohol Skills Training Programs, or Hazing Prevention Training).
• They do not have registered faculty advisors to mentor members.
• If they are not connected to a national organization, they do not carry liability insurance.

• Delta Kappa Epsilon (also called DEKE or Psi Delta): Lost University recognition in October 2018 through at least May 2022. Still recognized by its national organization.
• Theta Chi (also called Tachi): Lost University recognition in June 2023. Eligible to apply for return in Fall 2027.
