Omega Psi Phi
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on November 17, 1911, at Howard University in Washington, D.C. It was the first historically Black fraternity founded at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). The fraternity’s four founders—three undergraduate students and one faculty advisor—created the organization to promote the Fraternity’s Four Cardinal Principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift.
Guided by its motto, “Friendship is Essential to the Soul,” Omega Psi Phi brings together members with shared ideals to pursue academic excellence, leadership, and service.
