Founded in 1908 at Howard University, Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women. With over 380,000 initiated members across more than 1,096 chapters worldwide,

AKA is dedicated to scholarship, leadership, and service. The sorority’s mission focuses on promoting high scholastic and ethical standards, fostering friendship and unity among women, addressing issues affecting girls and women, supporting college life, and providing service to all mankind.
